about

Essentially three "albums" on one tape – hereby, the label's longest ever (physical) offering. Opening act V5N 2G8 wrings out mangled samples and disturbances, with looped psychedelic aggression, for an unobtrusive 13½ minutes of "fun." Out of the foyer and into the grand ballroom, the former Vancouverite is usurped by Buenos Aires native k..k., who gets the rest of the first tape-side to work his magic(k). A single, 29 minute monsterpiece unfolds, as an ultra low frequency hum drone climaxes into feedback-laced slow-fi huayno hazecraft. Wow.

The reverse contains a slew of brilliant untitled short(er than usual, mostly) format synth/rhythmic compositions from Micromelancolié. Hazy diamonds, pitched down 8-bit-esque whimsy, warm technocentric bliss-scapes – not surprisingly, this set is among our favourite Robert Skrzynski works. ('tis also logical, then, that a tour of Poland with German lo-fi synthesizer luminaries Guenter Schlienz and Hering und seine sieben Sachen was recently undertaken. Two tracks from this tape are incorporated into Micromelancolié tracks for a tour cassette, by the way: sicsic.bandcamp.com/album/tour-tape-2014-sicsic084-cw23 )
